2.When building algorithm try to add the 10 or 15 band graphic EQ or you favorite parametric. This makes a world of differance in the overall tone you can achieve over the analog 7 band. It can make the differance between thin sounding and killer sounding tone. Many never find this out about the 2101. Plus using the wet/dry mix you have even more control.

3. If you need a fantastic vocal signal processor for the studio or P.A., put it to work. It has stereo fx returns which make perfect for true dual processing with all those great effects..

4. A easter egg in the 2101? Push in and hold the 2 button while powering on the unit to display the ????.

5. The XLR outputs are line level! Great for power amps, not so great for mixing consoles with out a pad switchs.You can turn the 2101 down or you can use a D.I. box or a XLR to Line adaptor and use your boards line input. Without it you can easily clip your console or mixer.

6. After upgrading to new EPROMs, a factory reset is required. So do a backup or bulk dump to save your programs BEFORE hand.

7. Did you know you can use your program and bypass switches on the Control One foot controller to be bank up and bank down in firmware ver 3.00.00?

8. You can assign ANY effect or paramiter to the Control One Continous Controller pedal easy. For now lets say you need to control distortion gain. Press the distortion button then select button one then PRESS LINK. Next click on the CC pedal. Thats it. You can tweek it more to fine tune paramiters at will. To UNDO this, select the DIST button and select the LINK then DELETE.

9. When creating your patches or programs, use a good set of studio headphones or better yet a pair of studio reference monitors. You ideally want the sound you hear as flat as possible, meaning linearly flat from 20-20kHz or un-hiped or colored by you amp rig. The payoff is when you hear your patches direct through a P.A. or direct recording setup or even a MP3 file. This translates extremely well to the power amp sound as well.

10. If recording direct, try the Palmer PDI-09 speaker simulator for a better sound than the 2101's XLR's. I was pleased with the results over the normal 2101 XLR outs with speaker simulators.
